MedBen Analytics is currently working with providers nationwide to help them make this transition in a performance-efficient and cost-effective manner.<\/p>\n<p>At the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Switzerland last month, Secretary Sylvia M. Burwell said HHS will meet their goal of moving 30% of fee-for-service Medicare payments to bundled payments and other value-based arrangements by year end. The agency has also set the goal of tying 50% of Medicare payments to alternative payment models by the end of 2018, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.healthcaredive.com\/news\/hhs-on-target-to-move-30-of-medicare-payments-to-quality-value-by-years\/412508\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Healthcare Dive reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>HHS states that the use of alternative payment models has:<\/p>\n<p>Saved Medicare a combined $417 million;<\/p>\n<p>Reduced hospital readmissions in Medicare by nearly 8%; and<\/p>\n<p>Through quality improvements, saved 50,000 lives and $12 billion in care spending from 2010 to 2013.<\/p>\n<p>As bundled payments and other value-based payment models become more commonplace, and an ever-greater number of older Americans become eligible for Medicare, providers need to have the tools required to make informed decisions about the delivery of care.
